About the new temple

The government requires the current land for infrastructure expansion as part of national projects. Therefore, Sree Ramar Temple needs to be relocated, and a new temple will be built.

The current temple will be demolished. The temple’s deities will be relocated to a temporary site, where prayers and services will continue without any disruptions to our devotees.

The new temple will include a four-story ancillary building, which will feature a mediation hall, staff quarters, kitchen, administrative office, and parking facilities. Additionally, the temple will have stained glass panels depicting the story of the Ramayana, allowing natural light to illuminate the space.

The new temple will include a multi-purpose hall. Once the temple is built, the committee will explore conducting vocal and dance lessons, bhajans, and cultural events.

Yes, the new temple will have ramps and a lift to ensure accessibility for all devotees.

The design of the new temple aims to preserve the traditional Singaporean aesthetic while incorporating the north-south architectural alignment, blending both cultural and temple architectural elements.

Yes, all existing deities Sree Seetha Ramar, Sree Mahalakshmi, Sree Vishnu Durgai, Sree Sundara Vinayagar, Sree Vishwaroopa Anjeneyar, Sree Krishna Nagar, Sree Ramalingeshwarar, Sree Parvathavarthini Amman, Sree Bhuvaneshwari Amman, Sree Dakshinamurthy, Sree Panjamukha Vinayagar, Sree Arasamara Vinayagar, Sree Muthu Mariamman, Sree Chandhigeswarar, Sree Nandhigewarar, Sree Athma Lingam, Lord Buddha, Quan Yin will be moved to the new temple.

Services and Prayers

No, there will be no disruptions to prayers and services during construction.

Temporary Location

The new temple will be located adjacent to the current temple premises on the open field.

A temporary location is necessary to accommodate the temple during the construction of the new building. The Balasthapanam will be established to house the deities and continue normal poojas until the new temple is completed.

The temple will continue operating from its temporary location until the completion of the new premises, anticipated in 2030.

The new temple will not have dedicated parking spaces due to space constraints. However, parking is available in the surrounding area.

Donations and Fundraising

Yes, we will be organizing various fundraising campaigns. Details of these fundraising activities will be shared through our outreach channels, including social media pages, the temple’s website, and advertisements around the temple. Your support is invaluable in making this project a success.

The estimated cost of construction is $20 million.

Audits will be conducted, and the information will be shared with the public. The Management Committee will oversee the process to ensure transparency and proper fund management.

Donors will receive:
  1. A thank-you letter from the Temple President.
  2. Acknowledgment of their contributions on the temple’s website, donor board, and in the Annual Reports.
